Club Schedule
Cubbies (3 & 4 year olds) meet Mondays from 3:30 to 5:00 PM

A Note to Parents
The AWANA program is designed to provide excitement and fun, but more importantly to teach children about God and His Word, the Bible. In today’s world, where there are many influences affecting our children in a negative way, it is so very important that they receive moral and spiritual teaching. AWANA is here to help you provide that teaching. Each child has an opportunity to grow in Bible knowledge, in self-worth, and in their relationship with God and others. You can help achieve this goal in the following areas:
Encourage your child to come each week.
Help them to learn at least one section per week, and have them explain the meaning of what they learned.
Show an interest in your child’s progress.
Let us know of any special needs.
Your child will be assigned to a Leader who will work with and encourage him/her. You are encouraged to meet with your child’s Leader.
Please feel free to visit a club meeting at any time. If you have any questions, we will be glad to
discuss them with you.
Club Rules (Please review with your child)
- You must take part in the entire club program unless you bring a note from your parents or are excused by your Club Director.
- You must remain on the church grounds at all times unless you have written permission to leave.
- You may not run or play in the building or any area of the church property except as part of the organized club activities. Please respect church propertyno water fights, climbing on pole pads, etc.
- You must cooperate with and obey the Club Leaders.
- When you hear the “5 Count” start, you must be quiet and come to attention.
- Please show respect to speakers during Council Time and to our country during flag salutes at the opening ceremony. We show respect to God by bowing our heads and remaining quiet during prayer.
More Information
Dues for AWANA Clubs are 50¢ per week. Although dues are voluntary, there are many items, such as awards, which must be covered. In order to simplify things for everybody, we are offering the following plans:
One payment (due around Oct 22) $11.00 (20% off)
Two payments (due around Oct 22 and Jan 28) $6.00 each payment (10% off)
The AWANA Uniform is required to be worn at all meetings. You will want to buy it as soon as your child completes the requirements for membership. Be sure to take good care of it and attach awards as soon as they are given out. Uniform inspections are scheduled during the club year.
We ask that uniforms and handbooks be purchased; check with your child’s Leader or Club Director for the amount. Special arrangements can be made if there is any problem in this area.If a uniform or handbook is lost, a replacement must be purchased. If paid by check, please make out to “OICC,” rather than AWANA. Please make sure that your child’s name is marked on sweaters, jackets, uniforms, etc. It seems that every meeting there are some items left at the church, and if it has a name, we can insure it is returned. Your name should also be on the front of your handbook and any other items you bring.
Questions about AWANA may answered by calling the church office at 360-376-6422 or emailing awana@orcaschurch.org.
We look forward to serving you and your child this year.
Rick Boucher, AWANA Commander
